The Serendra and Bonifacio High Street Experience

Yesterday, we (a group of bloggers) went to Serendra and Bonifacio High Street to have the second leg of SPOT Pass: An Exclusive Blogger’s Tour (speed-eating food tour). I was really amazed of the place; high-end restos and specialty shops flock around us. I’ve passed by the same area two years ago, but haven’t had a close encounter like I had yesterday.

While walking around the area, I noticed these countless numbers of pale yellow-painted condominiums. I can’t stop myself from thinking that the place was a perfect world. Later on, a question boggled my mind. Where the heck does those people park their cars?

Yes, indeed it was a perfect world. The question I had in mind was answered when I saw their underground

SPOT Pass: An Exclusive Blogger’s Tour Day 1

Waaaaa, I hate to have the same title with my sister’s post bad sadly I can’t play with the title cause it’s the title of the event.

SPOT Pass: An exclusive blogger’s tour is a two-day food tour event organized by SPOT.ph, an online review central for establishments in the city. The first day was held last April 25, 2008 and I was there; the second leg would be tomorrow and I’m most probably attending it.

For our first day, we ate at Trinoma’s different restaurants. Almost all of them were super-high-end which I believe I can’t afford until I earn $1000.00 a month in (more…)

My First Three Days in the Metro

Hello guys out there.

I had a lot to share on my first three days here in Metro Manila. I’m lucky that a lot of blogger’s events got lined up just in time for my arrival. :D

Nothing so significant on my first day. I only queued up for about 30 minutes for my dorm billing form. Oh, I also had the chance to visit Trinoma that day.

Then the second day is the real treat. It was the spot.ph Exclusive Bloggers’ Tour. It was actually the first day, so we had it in the different levels of Trinoma. To give you an idea, spot.ph is a website which caters reviews of establishments around the city. I’ll be posting another one for this.

The third day was the iBlog 4 : The 4th Philippine Blogging Summit. I get to see bloggers which I only knew online. And of course, the Davao people were there (Ate Ria, Kuya Andrew, Kuya Blogie, Kuya Migs, Kuya Winston). After the summit was the 88db.com Party at Katip’s Bar. It was fun; we only had no seat to sit on. We (me and my sister) finished the human bingo — so we got the loot bags and our personalized business cards.

I’m posting more of each activity later. This is just an overview of my (more…)

Flying to Manila and Brand New Logo

Hey guys, in 10 hours I’ll be flying to Manila. I’ll be going there to attend some blogger’s events and work on my enrolment in UP.

———————-

I had this cool new logo from a guy from UIC, ragingfx.com. He sent me three variations; but the one at the top is what I like most.

Here are the two other variations.

I’m now working on my header; got to add it. :D

Also, please check out my super-cool 404 page. You can access it thru this page http://conradmiguel.com/i-want-to-see-a-404-page.

Happy Earth Day and New Layout

Happy Earth Day!

Today is Earth Day, and I feel a kind of nostalgism (don’t care if the word doesn’t exist). It makes me remember of my last year’s Internship when I had the chance to participate on Earth Day events. We, the three Pisay interns, were even the ones who made the Earth Day Info corner in Sarangani Province’ Capitol.

Enough of it. So, I have a new layout. If you’re reading from your feed reader or email, you won’t notice this but I recommend that you visit my site so you won’t miss the thing.

The changes in the new layout are:

  • The design. (obvious)
  • No more twit box. (huhuhu.. not a big loss)
  • No more featured blog of the week pane. (I’m tired of maintaining it)
  • Removed some advertisements, specifically the DreamHost campaigns. (they suck!)
  • New and improved comment visuals. (gravatar love :D )

I designed and coded it. I made those boxes, shadows, etc. The vector graphics (RSS buttons, navigation icons) were taken from different authors but from one source, (more…)

UP Oblation in 100-peso Bills?

Yes, the UP oblation overprinted on 100-peso bills.

And Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas has approved the overprinting of the image of the oblation on new hundred peso bills to be circulated soon.

An artist speculation has been rendered by philmoney.blogspot.com. And here’s how it looked like (subjective to the artist):

Looking forward to the circulation of these bills. :D

Alexa’s New Ranking System

I admit that I am a one big Alexa fan despite the many criticisms surrounding it (from bitter people). So, as my usual weekly routine I checked my Alexa ranking.

It read 378,153. What?? 378,153 from a dazzling 300,715 last week? What the heck! So I concluded that the sudden plunge was caused by my gradual loss of traffic.

Then, I saw this cute button saying Our rankings have changed! Click here for more info. Thank God I found the answer.

With Alexa’s New Ranking System, it is more reliable as it collects aggregate data from different sources. They have also improved their methodology to maintain consistency and integrity. This move will most probably result to a better-than-ever Alexa ranking!

Congrats Alexa for than even though you gave my ranking a huge plunge!
