Coffee and Depression
I never believed in the power of coffee as an effective stimulant.
Ever since I started to drink coffee, it always failed its “purpose”, to wake me up. Yes it wakes me up but for a very short period of time only, after which I feel sleepy or depressed.
Yesterday afternoon, I had three doses of Grande White Choco Mocha – one during a meeting with a company and the other two during my free time. I’m really not used to drinking coffee as I always preferred cream-based Frappuccinos whenever I am in Starbucks.
For the entire afternoon until now, I still feel caffeine circulating around my body. I get extremely depressed whenever I have nothing to do. I did weird things such as keeping in touch with old friends and other stuff. I splurged some cash eating in a famous restaurant in Bahay ng Alumni just to keep myself busy.
Fuck. I hate this feeling. I swear I won’t drink more coffee than my usual dosage from this day on. I’d rather choose the feeling after of being drunk due to beer than coffee!

Coffee hangovers are quite common. It’s why I switched to peppermint green tea! So much more refreshing, healthy and tasty too.
I DO have a taste for normal tea as well though, but then again I AM English!

They call coffee “America’s number one Drug problem”. This is not without reason. Drinking something that contains caffeine once in a while is not bad, but getting dependent on it is wrong.
If you ask me, it has to do with the following:
More than half of the people are “morning people” which means their biorhythm is at it’s best in the morning. Those people have no problem getting up early and being very active. Then almost 40% of people (like me) are the total opposite. But are forced by society to get up early. these people turn to coffee and other caffeine products.
