@lhordz: UPVTC is not offering any law courses. try UP Diliman.
@danilo r. amata jr.: you have to check if the subjects you took in another school is accredited.. go to the college secretary.. i think it also depends as to what course you are planning to pursue..

Just an update: starting this coming academic year (AY 2012-2013), BA SocSci (major in Psych) will now be BA Psych. [Yehey! BA Psych na siya!] Also UPV Tacloban College is currently offering two masters programs/courses: Master of Management major in Business Management (MMBM) and Master of Management major in Public Management (MMPM).
Admission to UPV Tacloban College (just like in other UP units/campuses) requires that you pass the UPCAT. The filing of application for the UPCAT usually starts in May and ends in June. If my memory serves me right, the actual test will be on a later date/month. (August probably.)
If you fail in the UPCAT, don’t worry. You may either (1) make an appeal to a UP campus or (2) enroll in another university/college and then transfer to UP afterwards. In transferring, make sure that you have “good” grades. [You know what I mean. hehe!] But please do not expect that all your earned units will be credited because majority of it will not (unless you come from another UP unit/campus or other reputable and prestigious university). [Having said that, 'wag ka na po magtaka kung PE and NSTP lang po ang ma-credit sa units na na-earn mo outside the UP system.]
For the MMBM and MMPM programs, a different admission exam is administered. I forgot the name of the test but I’m very sure that there is. The exam is held during summer vacation I think. As to its application period, kindly ask the Office of the College Secretary (OCS) or the Office of the Division of Management. [I'm sure they can help you more.^_^]
Regarding the tuition fee, it would depend on the annual income of your family. The lesser the family income, the bigger the discount. All UP campuses have “STFAP”. Through the STFAP, students are assigned in different brackets with each bracket corresponding to a certain tuition rate, e.g. PhP1000/unit, PhP600/unit, PhP400/unit, etc. Bracket A (PhP1,000/unit) are for students coming from families with annual income greater than a million (if I’m not mistaken). If you qualify for Bracket E1, your tuition will be free but you won’t receive a monthly stipend. But if you qualify for Bracket E2, your tuition will be free and you’ll be entitled to a monthly stipend. [Unahan na po kita, please lang 'wag mo po akong tanungin kung magkano po stipend kasi hindi ko po talaga alam.]
For Brackets E1 and E2, please take note that what is free is only the “tuition”. You still have to pay a very small amount upon enrollment — PhP46.50. [Opo, ganito po kaliit. PhP50 po, pwede na!] I forgot what it is for but I am pretty sure that you have to pay this amount. Good thing about being in UP is that you don’t have to maintain a certain general weighted average to qualify for Brackets E1 and E2. [Basta maliit ang kita ng pamilya and pasado ka lang sa mga subject mo, ok na! Free pa rin tuition mo kahit hindi ka CS or US. NB: CS = college scholar = usually referred to as dean's lister sa ibang colleges/universities; US = university scholar = president's lister sa iba. Sad to say, no financial incentive is given to CS or US students. But a program is annually held to recognize/honor the hardwork, diligence, and determination of CS and US students. Congrats sa mga matataaas ang grades! Saludo po ako sa inyo! Alam ko po kung anong hirap pinagdaanan niyo maging CS/US lang.]
[Sana po nakatulong ito.hehehe!]
[hahaha!] Sa previous post ko po may nakasulat na, “All UP campuses have ‘STFAP’.” What I mean to say is, “The UP system has STFAP.” tsk tsk! clarify ko lang.hehe!
Kindly make/post corrections kung may makita po kayong mali. Hindi po kasi ako masyadong sure sa sinulat ko. By posting comments/suggestions, isipin niyo na lang po na by doing so ay natutulungan niyo po ang ibang tao. ^_^
