LandBank CM Recto Experience
Yesterday, I posted on my “Series of Unfortunate Events” post my LandBank experience. For those who haven’t read the article, I went to LandBank to withdraw my PhP 2,700.00 school stipend over-the-counter cause I lost my ATM. Yesterday’s transaction was not approved and required me to process its replacement.
So today, I processed its replacement. The process was smooth and easy so there were no problems. Here’s a chronology of events on how I got my replacement.
Preparation
I woke up very early today. I prepared myself for the process (OA). I did my usual daily routine, then after that I filed my dorm leave pass. My leave pass was already ready by 10am but our dorm manager was still on a meeting with the school administration. So I stopped by the school cashier’s office to get some forms. It was already 12nn when I had my leave pass signed.
Departure
Right after my clearance was signed, I rushed my way out of the campus. Getting a ride was hard, TRANSPORT STRIKE! I still had to wait for about 10 minutes until a Bachelor Express came. It was my first time to ride such bus cause their usual route was from Cagayan de Oro to Davao and vice versa. So creative, they rerouted their buses to jeepney routes. I stopped at SM City, Davao.
Stop at SM
I stopped by at SM to have my lunch. After lunch, I checked in at Netopia Internet Cafe. I stayed there till 1:20pm then went straight to PhilCopy to photocopy the forms.
Here’s a list of required forms for replacement with their quantities:
- 3 Affidavit of Loss
- your copy
- lawyer’s copy
- bank’s copy
- 2 ATM Replacement Forms
- bank’s copy
- your copy
Search for “The Lawyer”
After photocopying the forms, I hired a cab to CM Recto. When I reached CM Recto, I searched for a notary public for my affidavits.
I found this office of 5 attorneys. I went inside, everyone in the office was like still in their mid20s. I gave the affidavit to one of them.
While one of them was processing my forms, they talked to me. Here are some parts of our translated [in Tagalog] conversation:
Mr. A: Saan ka nagaaral?
Ako: Sa Philippine Science po.
Mr. B: Ah, so hindi ka matalino. Diba hindi matatalino ang mga tagaPhilippine Science? [sarcastically, I guess]
Ako: [laughs]
Mr. C: Sino dyan ang tagaPhilippine Science?! [everybody points at me]
Mr. C: Teacher ako doon. Anong year ka? [jokingly]
Ako: Fourth year po.
Mr. B: So graduating ka pala. Anong course kunin mo?
Ako: Computer Science or Marine Biology po.
Mr. A: Ano daw ang tawag sa graduate ng Computer Science?
Mr. B: Computer Scientist!
Mr. A: So paggraduate mo, Philippine Scientist ka na pala!
Everyone: [laughs]
Mr. A: Sa graduate ng Political Science?
Mr. B: Political Scientist! Ako, nakagraduate lang ng Philosophy, Philosopher na!
[lot of other jokes then the assistant handed me the notarized affidavit of loss]
Mr. A: Saan ka nakatira?
Ako: Sa dorm po pero tagaGensan po talaga ako.
Mr. B: Anong lastname mo?
Ako: Gozalo po.
Mr. B: Chinese ka?
Ako: Hindi po. Bakit po?
Mr. B: Kasi po ka ng po, diba Chinese yan. [everyone of us laughed]
Ako: Magkano po lahat?
Mr. A: Studyante ka man, 100 lang.
[handed the cash to the one on the table]
Mr. A: Sa akin mo ibigay.
Ako: Thank you po. [left the office]
Anyway, the one who signed on my affidavit was Edwaldo L. Legaspina. Overall: my first lawyer experience without a companion was fun! After that, I crossed the street heading to LandBank.
The Real LandBank Experience
I grabbed a chair at the New Accounts section. Kuya Roi entertained me. I gave him the completely filled up form and my withdrawal slip. After some time, he gave me back the withdrawal slip cause the signature verifier denied it. So he gave me an array of Update of Signature forms. I had to fill them up completely.
After I finished the form, I gave it back to him. We had a little talk. He was nice, just like the lawyers. Then, one of the tellers called me. “GONZALO!” Grrr, another mispronouncer of my lastname. I approached window 2, then she handed me my long-awaited cash. Yey!!
My Apology
Sorry, another LONG personal post. Bye.
