Mindanao Bloggers Summit 3 Mindanao Bloggers Summit 3 preregistration is now open!

The Mindanao Bloggers Summit 3 is obviously the third blow of the annual Mindanao Bloggers Summit.

The first Mindanao Bloggers Summit was held at Davao City last 2007 hosted by The Usual Suspects. The second summit was held last year on my hometown, General Santos City hosted by Soccsksargen Bloggers. This year’s summit will be held on no less than Cagayan de Oro City to be hosted by CDOBloggers.

I’m really looking forward to this annual event. I hope that it will fall on the semestral break of the revised school calendar so that I can fly to Mindanao in time for the event. I can’t afford to miss it!

So far, I have attended the two summits and even had the chance to have a super informal shout-out on one of them.

Mindanao Bloggers, see you there!

I’m now in General Santos. Our flight was delayed for about two hours. We were supposed to leave Manila 12:30pm but we left past 2pm. The cause of delay was traffic congestion in the shorter runway of NAIA.

Later today, I will be flying back to General Santos City. My first academic year in the University is over and I’m not a freshie anymore. This means no more priority on the online enlistment of subjects.

I still have to pack my things up for this noon’s flight. I’m so excited to see what’s new in General Santos. The last time I was there was last October, to have my semestral break and shout-out in the 2nd Mindanao Blogger’s Summit. I’ve recently heard about Pacquiao’s 1.2-billion peso investment eco-zone (IT, medical and tourism) and the rumors about UST GenSan’s 2012 completion in time to their quadricentennial celebration (that’s 400 years).

I’ll be flying with Cebu Pacific, the airliner that lost one of my blogger friend Jehzeel Laurente’s valuables including his laptop. I hope I won’t experience the same disaster (haha) that happened to him.

Woot, General Santos here I come!

Hey guys.

Several few hours ago, I delivered a shout-out during the 2nd Mindanao Bloggers Summit held at Family Country Hotel and Restaurant in General Santos City.

The slides I used for my presentation is available here. Please don’t expect a lot from it since I made it on-the-spot, like 3 hours before my shout-out.

Hey guys!

The 2nd Mindanao Bloggers Summit is less than a week away. The organizers and volunteers (including me) are starting to get busy, really busy. Kuya Avel and company is brewing something big, bigger than the tuna in GenSan.

Aside from the post-summit events (tour, Sashimi night, among others), there is certainly more reason to attend the said event. I will be speaking for the shout-out in the afternoon — will rant about my blog, my blog life (blogger’s events, etc) and life as a student blogger.

I, too, am very excited for my shout-out. In fact, I’m now starting to outline what I’ll be saying. For parties interested on getting the outline, I’ll post them on my blog right after my shout-out (yes, there’s free wireless Internet connection in the area powered by 802.11a/b/g technology).

Weeeee, exciting! See you there!

Tomorrow noontime, I’d be leaving Manila en route to General Santos for my semestral break. I’m pretty excited right now, with all those stuff I can do at home.

I’m gonna have nonrestricted Internet (bandwidth-hog websites no longer blocked) spiced up by the one-to-one child-to-laptop/PC ratio. This means no need to compete for a PC. Adding to the excitement is the home-cooked food I surely missed. Not to mention the new motor-vehicles at home, at last my lil bro will teach me how to drive one (but I know the basics of driving a car [he doesn't]).

Before I could leave, I still have to pack my stuff and clean up my mess. It’s quite hard to clean all my mess since I’m occupying three rooms in the dorm – three rooms to clean, amf!

I’ll be flying with Cebu Pacific for the second time. Departure is by 1230 PHT which is scheduled to arrive by 1420 PHT. The flight will be using the controversial newly-opened Terminal 3 of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport. I guess the aerial vehicle to be used is an Airbus 320 Family Member (could be A319).

Exciting!! Weeeee.

Lachi’s

A group of bloggers visited Lachi’s last March 14, 2008 for the Davao FAT’s (Food Appreciation Tour). We had our dinner there, and guess what, it was a fun experience!

To give you an idea, Lachi’s is a small (but terrible) resto at Ruby St., Marfori Heights in Davao City. They serve an array of delicious meals, and most specially their sweet mouthwatering pastries.

They served me their Cordon Bleu which left a soothing taste on my tongue even after I finished my meal. It was undeniably yummier after I mildly soaked it to soy sauce. :D Unfortunately, I don’t have a picture of my meal.

above are images of their other meals

After eating our meals, they started rolling out the sweets for dessert.

Who would even dare to leave some leftover, huh?

Again it was a fun experience. Their food was really really really great. All of us left super happy and bloated. :D

Waaaa. Just came from Eden Nature Park in Davao City.

What we did in Eden was:

  • eat at their buffet
  • drank iced tea
  • rode the Indiana Jones
  • rode the zipline (the scariest!)

:D More later.

Yesterday was the first ever Bloggers Summit in the Philippines, the Mindanao Bloggers Summit 1 held at 4th Floor NCCC Mall, Davao organized by the Usual Suspects. Thank you very much for that, it was very very very successful. Thank you for the prizes, I got an IBM Notebook and a web hosting plan.

I arrived the mall at about 10:30pm. I went directly to the 4th Floor, checked the summit area and saw a lot of adults there. I was already in front of the registration desk, still feeling the anxiety (takot na hindi makarelate). I heard the voice of kuya Migs from outside and they were about to sing the National Anthem. I backed out on my first attempt, went back down. Continue reading “Mindanao Blogger Summit 1 Wrap Up” »

Yesterday was my domain’s first month but I was not able to post. I’ve been very busy yesterday, promise.

So how’s my domain’s first month?

It was indeed a busy day. Our research group had our panel defense in the morning, I missed two classes anyway lucky enough it was considered excused absence. Then in the afternoon we had to revise it and submit it back to our research adviser. We submitted it before 5pm, then our adviser returned it about 5:30pm for another revision. We had to revise it again so me and one other groupmate had to stay late on the internet cafe. The revision took us hours, so that means little sleep for me again. Then this morning, we submitted the revised copy. Our research adviser adviced us to have another minor revision, so we revised it again.

How’s that? Three revisions in less than 36 hours! Yeah, that’s for the love of Regional Intel Science and Engineering Fair.

A little trivia: Since the start of the week, the earliest time I went to bed was 1am and the latest was 3am. Hahaha. I’m a little stressed now.

Also yesterday, I backed out for the Physics Quiz Bee. Why? Uhm, the Science Fair Congress was simultaenous with the Quiz Bee and only the team leader can speak during the Congress. I want to be the team leader so I sacrificed my Physics career. Anyway, I know our research study more than any PHYSICS concept. In fact, I can construct our circuit without the schematic diagrams and assembly programs!

I’m bragging again and no one can stop me. ;D

Mindanao Blogger’s Summit 1

I’m attending the Blogger’s Summit tomorrow. I was supposed to go home to GenSan today as most of the GenSan dormers did but I preferred to stay for the Summit.

I am pretty anxious now. I don’t know who to go with during the summit. I’m afraid to end up in front of the registration without registering! You know that feeling of anxiousness, you don’t even know if you’ll go or not on the last minute.

I’m also afraid I’ll be the youngest in the Summit and be left behind their mature conversations. Waaa, help me please.

I’ve read Batang Yagit’s article on Preparing for the Mindanao Bloggers Summit 1. Read it before you go.

Another trivia: I’ll be staying here in Davao till Sunday morning. I only have PhP474.00 in my pocket. So here’s my budget:

  • PhP 20.00 for my Netopia bill (I’m currently blogging here at Netopia).
  • PhP 20.00 for my fare back to the dorm.
  • PhP 20.00 for my fare to NCCC tomorrow for the summit.
  • PhP 100.00 for my haircut. (I’ll have my haircut before the Summit starts)
  • PhP 70.00 for my lunch (skipping breakfast)
  • PhP 50.00 for my dinner (small dinner)
  • PhP 20.00 for my fare to my grandfather’s house (sleeping there tomorrow)
  • PhP 10.00 for my fare to the Davao City Overland Transport Terminal
  • PhP 165.00 for my bus fare back to GenSan.

I’m so poor now. Waaaa!
