Why Janina San Miguel deserves to be Bb. Pilipinas – World 2008
Janina San Miguel, 17, a Mass Communication student of University of the East, is Binibining Pilipinas World 2008.
She is currently facing a lot of criticisms, both online and offline, after winning the Binibining Pilipinas World considering that she had the most tragic (hilarious) answer in the Question-and-Answer portion of the competition.
Below is the complete video of her Question-and-Answer portion answer:
- She has the looks. We can’t deny that she has a nicely carved sexy body. Her facial features are also at par compared to other beauty queens.
- As she said, she’s confident. Watching the video would prove this, no need for further justification.
- She is also a tough girl. Yes, she’s tough. In fact, she is one of the Tough Ten (her mispronunciation for the phrase Top Ten).
- Lastly, it’s a beauty pageant anyway. I’ve read from a source that in the new format of Binibining Pilipinas, the candidate’s swimsuit and evening gown performance weighs the most.

well, think about it… Melanie Marquez had some grammar mistakes, but she still brought home the bacon, becoming Ms. International… so, you know, there might just be a chance with this girl.

it never fails to baffle me how enlightened feminists abroad – professionals like lawyers, doctors, and other career women – join and win beauty contests there, while in the philppines, where beautiful and intelligent women abound we get… well.
this is not to say she is not intelligent, maybe she just doesn’t speak English that well. Which brings me to my next point…
i don’t think we get bonus points for speaking English in those international beauty contests, right? so if our contestant will be able to express herself more intelligently in Filipino, why the heck do we never ask for an interpreter? The south american women and the japanese women do it all the time.

Well, im berry tired of the critisism! I just hope that my distractors will stopped critizising me. It is just a question and answer and i was won the crown already. My pamily was happy about it, and I was very happy about it right now too!

Shes got the packaging of a potential winner as she has created this controversy. People abroad doesnt really care much about speaking a perfect language, but its good that most Filipinos are concern about it and this is someting that everyone should be looking forward to. She’s only 17 and she could do a lot better.

MY ANSWER: They will not stop critizising until you will prove to them that you are worthy enough for the crown.
I”m not questioning your grammar in fact i dont care if your grammar is wrong as long you answered it correctly,but….i have BUT!!!,you didnt even answer the question.you didnt even know how to construct simple english.My dear, di rin ako magaling sa english,but i can answer a simple question.
It is a question and answer but what you did is a QUESTION AND QUESTIONABLE ANSWER.
You are on a Pageant..and Pageant is a CONTEST.Everyone who joins will be subjct to criticism. Thats why there are
judges who will score the contestants.
It is already gives that all of this criticisms will be thrown to you bec.YOU FAILED TO PROVE YOURSELF.
